The Chegutu Mayor’s Netball Tournament was held on the 1st December 2018 at Pfupajena Stadium. This is an annual tournament sponsored by Chegutu Municipality through the Mayor’s Office.
In line with the participatory local governance ethos embraced by Chegutu Municipality, the 2019 Council budget was formulated with full participation of all residents and stakeholders of Council.
Chegutu Municipality participated at the 2018 Edition of the Local Government Investment Conference (LOGIC) held from the 16th to 18th October 2018 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Bulawayo.
Chegutu Municipality is currently implementing the second Phase of the Emergency Roads Rehabilitation project, targeting Hippo Pools Road, Station Street and Concession Hill Road.
Chegutu Municipality hosted the annual Chegutu District Sports, Arts and Culture Festival on the 3rd November 2018 at Pfupajena Stadium. Various sporting teams drawn from the District competed in the available sporting categories such as soccer, netball, chess etc. The festival is held every year as part of Chegutu Municipality’s delivery of social services. Various companies such as Zimplats, Tripple C, Chicken Inn, Global Platinum Resources, Rock Chemical Fillers, Dandy Zimbabwe, among others.
Chegutu Municipality held a Strategic Plan Stakeholders' Workshop on 6 December 2018 at Chegutu Country Club. The objective of the Workshop was to get inputs from various stakeholder groups on the 2019 to 2023 Strategic Plan. During the Workshop, they were various stakeholders including the Business Community, Government Departments, Churches, SMES, Municipal Workers Committee, Councillors and Management.
