The Department is responsible for provision of most of the Municipal services such as water supply, sanitation services, roads construction and maintenance, land servicing, public lighting, solid waste management and town planning and development control services. Council is utilizing its complement of equipment to open roads, graveling and compaction as well as trenching for water and sewer services. Beneficiaries of the current Kaguvi Phase IV project have since occupied their properties as the Department has constructed roads and drilled boreholes to provide clean water, while provision of conventional services is in progress.

The Department has managed to improve the road network in Chegutu with most of the roads highly accessible, while strategies at improving water supply are being vigorously pursued. Chegutu Municipality has accelerated efforts towards addressing water supply challenges. Council has commissioned a Water Audit exercise being conducted by a consultant firm to identify all leakages along the water supply network and other broken down water infrastructure.
