April Monthly Clean-Up-Campaign

Chegutu Municipality conducted the 3rd Monthly Clean-up campaign on 5 April 2019. This involved cleaning the surroundings of all Municipal  Stations and Service Centres dotted around the Municipal area.

Service Level Benchmarking (SLB) Peer Review Exercise

Chegutu Municipality hosted an SLB peer review team from the 28th-29th March 2019. The team comprised senior officials from other cities and municipalities, officials from the Ministries of Local Government, Public Works and the Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe (UCAZ).

2019 Budget Approval

Main budget approvedThe 2019 annual budget for Chegutu Municipality has been approved by the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, paving way for implementation of same.

Upgrading of Chakari Water Tower Tank

As the thrust on improving water supply to residents of Chegutu Municipality gathers momentum, the upgrading of the Chakari Water Tower Tank through the separation of the inlet and outlet pipe as well as the installation of new water pumps has been completed.

March 2019 Monthly Clean-up Campaign

Chegutu Municipality conducted the 2nd Monthly Clean-up campaign on 1 March 2019. This involved cleaning the surroundings of all Municipal  Stations and Service Centres dotted around the Municipal area.

Launch of the Chegutu District Monthly Clean-up Campaign

In line with the Presidential Declaration on Monthly Clean-up Campaigns, the District Administrator for Chegutu, Mr. Tomu launched the District Clean-up programme at the TM/OK Car Park within the Chegutu Municipality CBD on Friday 01 February 2019. Being the first Friday of the month, Chegutu Municipal Councillors and staff, Chegutu RDC Councillors and staff, Government Departments led by the District Administrator, Chicken Inn staff, TM & OK Supermarkets’ staff, Zimplats management and staff, Nursing staff and other employees from the Chegutu District Hospital, Econet staff and various other corporate organisations went around their respective workplaces picking up litter and then proceeded to clean up streets within the Chegutu Municipal CBD area. Chicken Inn donated 10 street bins while Zimplats assisted with pokers and brooms.
