Chegutu Municipality hosted an SLB peer review team from the 28th-29th March 2019. The team comprised senior officials from other cities and municipalities, officials from the Ministries of Local Government, Public Works and the Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe (UCAZ).
Other local participants in the peer review exercise included the Chegutu Municipal Councillors and officials, EMA, representatives of the Chegutu business community and residents associations. Service Level Benchmarking (SLB) is a process whereby urban local authorities peer review each other on water supply, wastewater (sewerage) management and solid waste (refuse) management, roads & public safety and corporate governance. There are some scientific indicators developed under the SLB system on the basis of which the performance of a local authority in the cited service areas is rated.
