Visit by the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Local Government, Public Works and National Housing

The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, chaired by Hon. M. Chikukwa visited Chegutu Municipality on 09 March 2020.

The visit was in line with the Committee’s oversight role over the local government sector. The Committee was briefed on the state of Chegutu Municipality on corporate governance, water, and sanitation, roads, health services, education as well as financial issues. The Committee subsequently visited the water treatment plant, Chinengundu Primary School, Chinengundu clinic as well as Station Street and members generally appreciated the efforts that Council was employing towards improving service provision within the Municipal area. The Committee duly noted the efficient utilization of devolution funds towards improvements in the water and sanitation sectors as commendable.
