The Municipality of Chegutu wishes to inform its valued residents and ratepayers that the 2024 annual budget for Chegutu Municipality has been approved by the Minister of Local Government & Public Works in terms of the Urban Councils Act [Cap. 29:15] and the Public Finance Management Act [Cap. 22:19], paving way for implementation of same, effective April 2024.

As such, the Municipality will commence implementing the budget as approved while also intensifying revenue collection to meet service delivery and capital development requirements, principally upgrading water supply and sewer network infrastructure as well as road rehabilitation. As always, residents are encouraged to pay their monthly bills as they become due to capacitate the local authority in sustaining service provision. Council will charge interest on all accounts that are in 90 days arrears. Also note that 2024 licence renewals are now well-overdue.

As such residents and ratepayers are hereby encouraged to come and make payments to avoid business interruptions and closure. Please note that we can only achieve our budget targets 100% if we also pay 100% in order to receive the kind of service we have planned for in the Budget! In due course, we shall be reviewing the Budget performance and feedback from yourselves on service delivery and capital development.
