Currently The Internal Audit Section is managed by two people namely: The Internal Auditor and The Audit Assistant.

The Internal Audit Section is responsible for

• Ensuring effective, efficient and economic utilization of Municipal assets and resources (value-for-money auditing).
• Ensuring that the policies and systems of Council are adhered to and the legal framework for Council operations is observed to ensure good corporate governance.
• Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in responding to risks within the organisation’s governance, operations and information systems.
• Review the means of safeguarding assets and verify the existence of such assets.
