Currently, the Public Relations and Communications Section has one person, The Public Relations and Communications Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To speak on behalf of the Council
• To ensure effective internal and external communication
• Media liaison and media relations
• Stakeholder engagement
• Planning publicity strategies and campaigns
• Writing and producing Press Release and Notices
• Dealing with inquiries from the public, press, and other related organisations
• Analysing media coverage
• Undertaking relevant researches
• Oversee Council events

Mechanical

The Section is responsible for:

• The maintenance and repair of the Council Fleet of Plant and Equipment as well as the fleet of vehicles.

Electrical

This Section is responsible for:

• The maintenance of Public lighting such as tower lights and street lights.
• Electrical maintenance of pumps and motors and the general maintenance of the Council infrastructure.

Roads

Responsible for:

• Routine maintenance and periodic maintenance of roads
• Routine maintenance include pothole patching
• Grass cutting
• Drain clearing while periodic maintenance include graveling of roads and reseals.

Sewer Cleaning /Sewer Disposal

Responsible for:

• Attending to sewer blockages along the mainlines and households.
• Also responsible for the running and operating the 3 sets of ponds and their pump stations i.e. Kaguvi Phase1 & 2, Kaguvi Phase 3 and ZMDC ponds and Sewage Pump Stations.

Plumbing Section

Responsible for: -

• Maintenance and new installation and repair of water and sewer pipes.
• Also responsible for the maintenance of pumps.

Maintenance

This Section is made up of builders, carpenters, and welders and is responsible for:

• Maintenance and repair work of buildings and infrastructure in general.
